Bulgari taps Bella Hadid for new collections
The new Bulgari SpringSummer 2018 leather goods and accessories collection is inspired by freedom of expression and the street art that dominate modern cities.
Bulgari designs the new Serpenti Pop Heart bag with two snakes building two halves of the heart, encircling the iconic snakehead closure. The calf leather is laser-cut to outline the design. Crowning the design are 150 metal studs, with hexagonal points reminiscent of Serpenti’s scales. The Pop Heart bag is available in white agate and paradise jade.
The Serpenti Neon unveils a message that begins on the front of the bag, with the silhouette of the snake, and ends on its back, with the bold “forever” inscription.
The Divas’ Dream carves the fan shape motif into a studded mosaic. Tonal enamel matches the color of the bag, with round studs. The bag boasts three lay- ers of leather, stitched together for a fan-shaped and three-dimensional quilted effect. The new bag is available in two sizes and multiple colors.
The Serpenti Quilted Stardust features round, shiny studs. The quilted effect is created with no stitches whatsoever, as the design is crafted directly with the metallic dots.
The new Serpenti Metallic bag comes in gem-inspired metallic hues. The shimmering brushed-metallic leather is obtained with a sophisticated artisanal process requiring 16 coloration steps, and the iconic “nuvolato” effect. Serpenti’s hallmark, the gold-plated enamel serpent’s head, captures the eye.
The collection includes new additions to the Serpenti calf leather version in shades of zephyr quartz, wisteria jade, indigo topaz and paradise jade.
The Serpenti Graffiti python bag features a top handle to carry the bag by hand, besides the shoulder or cross body option. The graffiti design is printed directly on the python skin.
The Serpenti Halo Python bag is handpainted by artisans in gemstone shades.
Colored python skin also dresses the feminine Divas’ Dream shoulder bag, with a fan-shaped closure.
The Serpenti Viper’s signature snap closure is carved with a sublimation of the snake’s scales in a hexagonal pattern. The central scales are handpainted with liquid, metallic pigments.
Urban impressions also animate the scarves and stoles collection for Spring-Summer 2018—from the heart-and-arrows motif of the Maxi Pop Heart stole, to a patchwork of Bulgari’s symbols printed around the “B” of the logo in the distinctive Bulgari Tattoo scarf.
The snakehead is printed like a tattoo on the floral graffiti background of the Serpenti Love Yard scarf. The Persian Serpenti scarf is hand-designed with an intricate snake motif.
Coiled around the wrist or the neck, tied to one’s favorite bag or worn as a headband or turban, this year’s Bulgari scarves and stoles are versatile accessories.
The new Spring-Summer ’18 eyewear collection also mirrors its vibrant inspiration.
Serpenteyes sunglasses have ultra-flat round lenses contrasted with edgy frames, lasered with a hexagonal pattern.
The Serpenti Freedomation sunglasses feature oversized aviator lenses, as well as the scales motif with a metal spoiler. It’s available from mirrored to tinted lenses, combined with orange or purple shaded scales.
Bulgari also launches the Serpenti Poisoncandy sunglasses, crafted with semi-rimless teardrop lenses, embellished with hexagonal scales.
The Serpenti Loopyeyes come with new colors, while the Serpenti Serpentine sunglasses come with new purple, pink, and turtledove touches.
Designs for Spring-Summer ’18 Divas’ Dreams sunglasses are inspired by the openwork interpretation of the fan-shape motif in multilayer acetate with fancy crystals carved into the decoration.
A cross between Bulgari’s jewelry and eyewear collections, Le Gemme features goldplated finishing and mother-ofpearl and malachite inserts.
