GET FREE HAIRCUT AT MAKATIMED CANCER CENTER’S ‘GIFT OF YOUR HAIR 2018’

Get a free summer-ready haircut and donate your hair for a good cause to Makati Medical Center Cancer Center’s “Gift of Your Hair 2018.”

The annual hair donation drive will be held on April 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the MakatiMed Cancer Center, first floor, Tower 1.

MakatiMed has partnered with Heads by Volu-med salon for the second year in a row. Heads provides solutions to hair problems by integrating hair services with quality hair systems and wigs.

The salon will provide free haircuts and styling to those who will donate their cut hair to MakatiMed on that day.

The donated hair should at least be nine-inches long. Any hair type, including gray and white hair, will be accepted.

“Every strand of donated hair counts, and so we encour- age everyone to join us on April 10,” said Ma. Felina Rosario Cruz, unit head, Cancer Center Supportive Care Services. “I’m sure some people will opt to have shorter hair this summer season, so might as well get a free haircut on us and make a hair donation. This simple ges- ture will help make patients happy and bring back their confidence.”

“People with cancer have to cope with the emotionally and physically taxing treatment and its side effects, including hair loss,” said Victor Gozali, codirector of the Cancer Center. “This hair donation drive is our small way of giving support to these brave patients.” For inquiries and registration, call the Cancer Center at 8888999 local 7122.
