POPULAR AND POTENT SHEET MASKS FROM SEOUL NOW SOLD AT WATSONS AND BEAUTY BAR

Somewhere in the world, one Mediheal facial mask is sold every 0.3 seconds

There’s only one reason Mediheal is the world’s No. 1 bestselling facial mask: It works. Even without the celebrity endorsements of Korean heartthrob actor Hyun Bin and K-pop sensation BTS, or the sugarcoated press releases, the brand’s range of products simply work.

That’s why customers stay loyal—it has sold a staggering billion facial masks since August last year, and a Mediheal facial mask is sold every 0.3 seconds around the world.

The good news is, Mediheal is finally available in the Philippines. No need to order abroad or buy from online resellers. Just pop in at any Watsons or SM Beauty Bar branch, and test the products for free before making a purchase.

“We are promoting a home-use concept where you no longer have to go through expensive treatments to get a beautiful skin,” said Mark Dean Lim, marketing head of Genson Distribution Inc., local distributor of Mediheal.

Mediheal products are dermatologically formulated and tested, developed at the beauty school of Seoul University by a team of skin experts and dermatologists who understand Asian skin and what works for it.

They are “free-from” products, said Jared de Guzman, Watsons group manager. It means the formulation doesn’t carry, for example, mineral oils or parabens that are known to harm skin.

“If you are just starting in the mask world and you are a new customer, we recommend you try the Mediheal. If you have sensitive skin you’ll have no problems with this one,” De Guzman said.

Benefits

The masks, which are priced at P99-P149 each, pack a wallop of benefits. A long and stressful day at work would probably call for its bestseller, NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor) Aquaring Ampoule Mask Ex., a product perfect for dry skin. It contains hyaluronic acid and ceramide, making it three times more powerful than the average products in locking in moisture. It also helps tighten pores and regulate sebum.

“If you have dark spots, we have the whitening WHPWhite Hydrating Mask,” De Guzman said. Its Black Mask Ex. variant has activated charcoal to help cleanse and brighten the skin, helping removing environmental toxins and dirt from under your skin. The activated charcoal supposedly acts like a mag- net, drawing out toxins from clogged pores through exfoliation and leaving behind smoother skin.

Right now, Watsons offers eight Mediheal facial mask variants: NMF, WHP, IPI Lightmax, Teatree Care Solution (anti-acne solution), Placenta Revital, Collagen Impact (anti-aging), DNA Proatin Hydrating Mask, and Piggymom Soak Soak Blackheads Remover.

Also available are Mediheal BTS special sets at P1,250 per pack, such as BTS Soothing Care, BTS Brightening Care, BTS Moisturizing Care, and BTS Hydrating Care. Each set includes 10 mask packs and 14 photo cards.

Concentrated serum

“Mediheal masks contain more concentrated serum than other brands. Depending on your skin’s needs, the concentrated serum is formulated to help hydrate, moisturize, revitalize, tighten pores or heal acne,” Lim said.

The face masks are made of transparent cotton that fit snugly on the skin. Unlike other brands, they don’t leak excess liquid. This eliminates the need to lie still or close one’s eyes with the mask on. When the embossed Mediheal logo surfaces on the mask, usually after 15-20 minutes, then it’s time to remove it.

“We recommend using Mediheal two to three times a week. But if you live in a cooler climate where skin is prone to become drier, daily or every-other-day usage of the mask is advised,” Lim said.
