WITH FINAL 4 IN SIGHT, RDJ WANTS LA SALLE TO PLAY BETTER AGAINST UE

- By Marc Anthony Reyes @marcreyesINQ

Expect La Salle to cruise closer to a Final Four berth with a floundering University of the East in its way Saturday.

UE continues to bring up the rear in the field but there’s more bad news for the Lady Warriors: La Salle coach Ramil de Jesus, despite his team leading the league, feels the Lady Spikers can still be better.

“They are still not moving well, and we tend to commit unforced errors due to setting,” said De Jesus in Filipino. “We are still lacking in many aspects.”

At solo lead with an 8-2 record, La Salle remains unbeaten in the second round of eliminations having taken down National U, University of the Philippines and Far Eastern U.

“Our confidence goes down in mid-game and that’s something we can’t afford to do,” added De Jesus.

Especially not against the Lady Warriors who are playing with nothing to lose but everything to gain. Their paltry two- win record carries some sort of significance: It matches their total for the past two seasons.

Far Eastern University is facing University of the Philippines with coach George Pascua still holding out for a chance to finish the eliminations at either first or second place.

“We are treating all our matches as a must-win from here on,” said Pascua. “It’s a long journey we must need to learn along the way.”
