RUSTIC MORNINGS BRUNCH AT HOLIDAY INN & SUITES MAKATI’S FLAVORS RESTO THIS MOTHER’S DAY

-

This Mother’s Day, May 13, and all remaining Sundays of the month, breakfast haven Rustic Mornings brings its Sunday brunch fare to Flavors in Holiday Inn & Suites Makati.

Rustic Mornings, Marikina’s hidden gem, was first named Isabelo Garden Restaurant—opened in 2009 by Portia Baluyut, an advertising exec turned chef/restaurateur.

With no formal culinary training, but having a lifelong love for food and the creative process, Baluyut renamed her restaurant as Rustic Mornings in 2012. Serving hearty all-day breakfast in Marikina, Rustic Mornings has been picked by Looloo as top breakfast place in the metro in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Holiday Inn & Suites Makati asked Baluyut to prepare Rustic Mornings’ popular comfort food for the hotel’s weekend diners.

“Sundays at Rustic Mornings are the best,” Baluyut says, describing how families, couples and friends line up even before opening time. “We have loyal customers coming from the far south of Manila who continually ask me to open a branch in their area. Having this collaboration with Holiday Inn & Suites Makati really excites me and is such a welcome opportunity because it gives those who would like to experience our food again a chance to do so without having to travel too far.”

Flavors Restaurant has a curated selection of Filipino, Southeast Asian and Western dishes.

Rustic Mornings’ Sunday brunch will have special Mother’s Day carvings of Rib-Eye Roast with Yorkshire pudding and all the sidings; Steamed Whole Lapu-Lapu; with Holiday Inn & Suites Makati’s famous Ube Cheesecake and Crepe Samurai.

Likewise available are Rustic Morning’s Buttermilk Pancakes with special Butter Cream and its own syrup, topped with fresh mangoes, banana slices, strawberry cubes, blueberry compote and chocolate chips.

Occupying its own station in the brunch buffet is Baluyut’s classic Waffable, the best-selling Churro Waffable with Bananas, Butter Cream and Yema Fudge.

Rustic Mornings also takes over the omelet station, with Baluyut’s open-faced Country Omelet, Potatoes, Bacon and Green Bell Pepper; All-Veggie variant (Zucchini, Mushrooms, Spinach and Tomato); and Meat Lovers (Bacon, Sausage and Garlic).

Another brunch highlight is the Pinoy Burrito made of Parslied Garlic Rice with Tinapa Flakes wrapped in lumpia wrapper, then deep fried, with a cream sauce.

Also on the menu: French Toast Bake with Berry Cream; the Hashbrowns, Sausages and Bacon bar; Curry Kofta Balls; Smoothie Bowls: Acai Bowl and Apple Smoothie Oat; and Open-faced Toasties at the toast bar.

“We look forward to this partnership with Rustic Mornings as we always want to bring a new and delightful experience to our guests. Having the top breakfast place in the metro team up with our chefs to bring a fun, relaxed and comforting brunch experience is something we’ve been wanting to do, and is an experience I think our guests will find enjoyable,” hotel manager Andy Belmonte says.
