They won Watsons gift certificates for their moms

-

Inspired by Watsons’ special Mother’s Day video, we asked you to tell us about your mothers and what you’d do to make them #lookgoodfeelgreat.

We had so much fun reading your heartwarming entries. Here are excerpts from the five winners of P5,000 gift certificates from Watsons.

We’re not yet done with our Mother’s Day treat. Drop by with your mom at Watsons at Mall of Asia from 2 to 5 p.m., so she can get a special gift.

My grandma, my mama

I have considered my grandmother a mother figure due to my mother’s absence because of work. She is someone that our family turns to every time we encounter a problem.

I know that my grandmother, who stresses about the funds she needs for her and my grandfather’s medicine, will not let the Watsons gift certificates go to waste. I know my mother would let my grandmother have it all but if they will share, I would like my mother to get a spa treatment to help her relax once in a while. -Samantha Nicole Olaso

Vitamins for my mommy

When I was younger, I would always compare her to other mothers and wished that she would look, dress and act like them. She never had fashionable clothes to wear. She didn’t use makeup.

Now that I am older, I realized that beauty has never been her priority. It has always been her daughters and siblings. Instead of spending on her own stuff, she would spend the money for our needs.

She is still like that. The only way she takes care of herself is through taking vitamins so that she won’t get sick.

This Mother’s Day, I want to treat her with lots of vitamins, healthy food and tender loving care. -Bagel T. Betorin

My unstoppable mom

It was 10 years ago when my father died and left us to our mother who was a housewife and owned nothing but a small sari-sari store.

She had to take care of eight children, including a pregnant daughter, a son who suffered from encephalitis when he was younger, and another son who just had heart surgery. Life as a single parent was a struggle, but nothing stopped my mother, Corazon Pascual. On days we had nothing to eat, she would magically come with food for us, making sure that she would be the last person to eat (if there was ever anything left).

On days we needed to go to school but didn’t have money to ride the jeepney, she would come up with the money. We would then notice she was not wearing the ring Dad gave her. Pawnshops became her best friend then. She also humbled herself and borrowed money from neighbors for our school requirements.

Now that we’re starting to feel the gains of her sacrifices, it’s amazing to see how she maintains her love and dedication for us constantly and consistently.

To recognize her efforts and love, we want to present her with something she can’t refuse. Your promo with Watsons is one perfect way to reward her. She can give herself something to make her look good and feel great without really thinking of us for the moment. -Earl John Pascual

Counting the ways mama loves me

It doesn’t matter whether you are blood related or not. As long as you have love and care for each other, you are family. She’s Mama Nadia, my stepmom, and there are many reasons why she is awesome.

1. She treats me like her real child.

2. She’s working hard for us. 3. She is kind. 4. She may not always be physically there for us, but she’s always in our hearts.

5. She supports us in every decision that we make.

6. She always wants the best for us. 7. She’s selfless. 8. She fulfills her promises. I’m so thankful that she came into my life. I love her so much. I will use the Watsons gift certificate for her personal care. Seeing her happy and looking good makes me happy, too. -Kylene Retuya

My hardworking mom

For 22 years of my life, I was raised by my grandmother. She sells kakanin to feed us. She is a protector, a giver, selfless, a counselor, a shoulder to cry on and so much more. I hope you’ll give me a chance to give this gift to my loving grandmother. -Laarnie Cabrera
