CHEF MASSIMO BOTTURA STARS IN LATEST FILM IN PANERAI TRAITS SERIES
Chef Massimo Bottura is best known to gastronomes as the brains behind the three-Michelinstarred restaurant Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy. Named best in the world by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2016, the restaurant offers a unique creative experience to its guests, serving cuisine of the highest quality with ingredients sourced from the “food valley” or the central region of Italy.
Bottura is the subject of the film entitled Innovation, which is part of the Panerai Traits project, a film series that features personalities that embody the traits of the luxury watch brand. The acclaimed chef’s motto is “tradition in evolution,” which is explored deeply in the film.
“Look at the past in a critical way, not nostalgically,” Bottura says in the film, which was shot in various locations in Modena, including the Piazza Grande, the historic Albinelli market and his own restaurant. “To innovate, it is necessary to take the best of the past and carry it forward into the future.”
In the film, the chef wears the Tuttonero - Luminor 1950 3 Days GMT Automatic Ceramica (PAM00438), which Panerai says perfectly expresses the brand’s ability to create models that combine the finest watchmaking traditions, the iconic and distinctive Panerai design with state-of-the-art materials and technical solutions. This ties into the same features that are found in the cuisine of Osteria Francescana.
Those interested to see the collaboration between Bottura and Panerai in Innovation can see the film in its entirety and additional photographs on the website www.paneraitraits.com as well as on the social media channels of the chef and of Panerai.
Innovation is the fourth and final film Panerai Traits series, which puts the spotlight on four distinctive and talented personalities who are leading figures in their respective fields and who define the traits of the Panerai brand. The other three are free diver Guillaume Néry, who describe the link with the Sea; Costas Voyatzis, the founder of www.yatzer.com, who talks about the purity of Design; and American photographer Jason M. Peterson who takes viewers through the search for the perfect light.
