Former Coal lobbyist heads US EPA

WASHINGTON— Unpopular US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt resigned on Friday only to be replaced by former coal industry lobbyist Andrew Wheeler. Wheeler, the No. 2 official at EPA, once helped lead an industry fight against regulations that protect Americans’ health and address climate change. The Senate confirmed Wheeler as the agency’s deputy administrator in April.
