Marriott Manila continues to excite the Philippine tourism industry as it unveiled 228 additional rooms and premiere dining facilities as part of its latest development.
Aptly called the West Wing, the newly built structure houses two restaurants, an executive lounge, roof-top infinity pool and multiple new guestroom configurations that bring Marriott Manila’s total room count to 570—currently one of the biggest in Manila.
The development comes a year after Marriott Manila launched one of the country’s most technologically advanced meeting facilities. Considered the biggest hotel meeting space in the Philippines, the Marriott Grand Ballroom offers 28 multifunctional rooms spread across 8,000 sqm of space.
“A year after the Marriott Grand Ballroom captured Asia’s attention by offering a competitive MICE facility at the heart of one of the region’s booming economies, Marriott Manila strengthens its position as a MICE and business hotel by adding the West Wing, offering more rooms, food & beverage, and recreational options for guests,” said Bruce Winton, general manager, Marriott Manila.
The West Wing has been developed partly in response to the rising need for hotel rooms in the Philippines, a country experiencing remarkable tourism growth. The country welcomed 5.3 million foreign tourists last year, up 10.9 percent compared to the previous year.
“There is significant de- mand for rooms because of the strong business travel in Manila and the variety of events booked at the Marriott Grand Ballroom. After hosting multiple prestigious events last year such as the Apec meetings, we are confident that the West Wing will help address the capacity requirements of bigger international and local events,” Winton explained.
The West Wing offers 101 Premium Rooms, 97 Executive Rooms, 28 Deluxe Suites, the Marriott Suite and the Chairman’s Suite, which is the biggest in the hotel at 261.15 sqm. Three fully accessible rooms are also included in the West Wing.
Beyond rooms, the West Wing is a culinary destination itself. Marriott Manila offers a unique tea and whisky bar called “Still,” as well as Gourmet Express, catering pizza and chicken delivery. On the ground floor, the 140-seater Chinese Restaurant, Man Ho, serves authentic Cantonese dishes including the rare roasted goose. Additional facilities include a state-of-the-art Executive Lounge, featuring a show kitchen, reading nooks and private meeting facilities overlooking Villamor Golf Course, and an infinity pool and bar at The Deck that promises the most spectacular view of Metro Manila’s varied skylines.
The Marriott West Wing opening introduces the connection of the Marriott Hotel Manila and Marriott Grand Ballrooms via Sky Bridge, creating a seamlessly connected, world-class meeting and dining venue at the Gateway to the Philippines.
Marriott Manila is strategically located within the Philippines’ first integrated resort complex, Resorts World Manila. The hotel is conveniently opposite NAIA Terminal 3, which guests can access with complimentary shuttles from the hotel.
