Marriott Manila welcomes new Director of Food & Beverage

-

Marriott Hotel Manila has become a culinary destination itself with over nine dining outlets, in-room dining service catering to 570 rooms and suites, and extensive banquet facilities. With this kind of repertoire, it is only fitting for Marriott to get the finest talent to oversee this segment with the appointment of Mohamed Ali as their new director of food and beverage.

Ali has been with the Marriott brand for over three decades. He started as a working student in Cairo Marriott and Omar Khayyam Casino in Egypt. His 14 years in Cairo Marriott allowed him to climb up the ladder specifically in the food and beverage department. His move to the US started his leadership roles at some of Mar- riott’s largest convention and prestigious luxury properties such as Seaview Marriott Resort in Galloway, New Jersey, The Doral Resort in Miami and The Ritz Carlton in Miami, Florida.

He was recognized as the Leader of the Year in 2014 for his exemplary work as Director of Banquets at the Ritz Carlton Kapaluah, Hawaii. His most recent position, before moving to the Philippines, was as the Director of Restaurants at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida–a 1,500-room convention hotel and resort, steps away from Disney World.

With his proven years of experience and versatility in handling large profile hotels, “Ali’s competence is an asset to our ever growing, dynamic hotel,” said Cluster General Manager Bruce Winton.

Ali can easily be noticed for his athletic physique–because he keeps himself active in sports, but his passion for food complements his zeal for his craft. He is expected to elevate the dining experience, adding that luxurious touch, to Marriott Manila’s multiple outlets and banquet services.
