MIHCA AND PARAGON HOLD CELPIP LAUNCH IN MANILA
The Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) and Paragon Testing Enterprises co-hosted an event to celebrate the launch of the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) on July 6, 2018 at the Robert Hall, Times Plaza Building, Manila.
The CELPIP launch is an important achievement, allowing MIHCA as the first CELPIP Test Centre in the Philippines. "The CELPIP test has a proven track record as a leading high-stakes test for English language proficiency and we are proud to be the of- ficial CELPIP test center in the country for nationals wanting to immigrate to Canada," said Paolo Guevara, President of MIHCA.
The event was graced by His Excellency John Holmes, Ambassador of Canada to the Philippines; Dr. Donald Wehrung, President and CEO of Paragon; Doris Magsaysay Ho, President and CEO of A. Magsaysay, Inc.; and Marlon Roño, President of Magsaysay People Resources Corporation. "The Philippines represents the largest population for new immigrants to Canada and we are looking forward to work with MIHCA to service this demand in the Philippines," said Paragon's Dr. Donald Wehrung.
CELPIP, a computer-based test, is the only Canadian test that has been officially designated by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada as proof of English language proficiency for individuals applying for permanent resident status in Canada. Since April 2018, MIHCA and Paragon have been offering CELPIP Test Sittings and are eager to help Filipinos who want to work and immigrate to Canada. About MIHCA
