MAJOR HOTEL TO RISE INSIDE CLARK FREEPORT ZONE

-

Hyatt Hotels Corp., through its affiliate Hyatt of Philippines Ltd., has entered into a management agreement with Donggwang Clark Corp. (DCC) for a 350-room Hyatt Regency Hotel inside the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga. The said hotel will mark the Hyatt Regency brand’s entry in Central Luzon.

Hyatt Regency Clark will be a part of DCC’s $300-million, 309ha integrated resort, the D’ Heights Resort (formerly Sun- valley Clark), which includes two 18-hole golf courses, another 5star brand luxury hotel, a duty free shopping mall, a commercial complex, an indoor water park, a nature park with jogging and biking trails, residential condominium towers which are currently in the pre-selling stage, and a business park.

“We are delighted to collaborate with DCC and reintroduce the Hyatt Regency brand to the Philippines through the innova- tive new development in Clark, an up-and-coming destination for leisure and business travelers,” said Asia Pacific Group president David Udell of Hyatt Hotels Corp. “The transformation of the city will create opportunities to attract a range of travelers from those with business interests in Clark Freeport Zone to families seeking a recreational getaway.”

Clark Freeport Zone sits 110 kilometers northwest of Metro Manila and benefits from modern infrastructure, wide roads and abundant greenery. With the government’s plans for a 106kilometer train line to link Clark to Metro Manila by 2022, the travel time between the two cities is expected to be reduced to around one hour. Plans are also underway for the expansion of the Clark International Airport.

“We are thrilled with this opportunity to work with the Hyatt Group in developing an- other one of their premier hotels here in Clark,” expressed DCC Chairman Lee Shin Kun.

“We believe that the addition of the Hyatt Regency Clark to the other entertainment and leisure facilities here in the D’ Heights Resort will further boost the tourism industry not just in Clark but in the entire country as well,” Lee explained.

“We are excited to expand our presence in the Philippines, where we are seeing many of our leisure and business travelers increasingly traveling to. The new hotel, like all other Hyatt Regency properties around the world, will be designed to make guests feel at home, while connecting them to the vibrant communities around them,” Udell said.

The hotel, set to open in 2022, will include 350 rooms with stylish and comfortable interior design, bars and restaurants, a large ballroom, fitness center and swimming pool.
