PAASCU reaccredits San Sebastian College-Recoletos Manila programs

-

The Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, College and Universities (PAASCU) granted reaccreditation to the Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Tourism Management, Computer Science, and Information Technology programs of San Sebastian College-Recoletos Manila for five years, valid until 2023.

The school received the communication last June 1 from the PAASCU executive director, three months after the reaccreditation survey visit.

“Our sincerest thanks to the Sebastinian community for all the support and cooperation. We were able to attain this goal through the concerted effort of everybody,” said SSC-R Manila president Rev. Fr. Nemesio D. Tolentin, OAR in his message to the academic community.

This reaccreditation continuously affirms the Level III status of the college programs granted by PAASCU since 1988. Thus, it also sets the college programs on the level needed to pursue the PAASCU Level IV Accreditation and the Institutional Accreditation. “These accreditation feats are the steps towards our goal to become a university. Let us continue to be one and united with this goal,” Fr. Tolentin added.

The areas that the PAASCU survey team examined during the visit were the goals and objectives of the institution, community involvement, curriculum and instruction, faculty, laboratories, library, student services, physical plant, and administration.

For this Academic Year 20182019, the Graduate Studies Department will undergo a PAASCU Formal Visit for Level I status for its MBAprogram and a preliminary visit for the Ph.D program. The grade school and the junior high school programs will also undergo the Level III re-survey visits.

PAASCU is a member of the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP), a full member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), and the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN).
