Edsa Shangri-La Manila excels in Philippine People’s Choice Awards

Edsa Shangri-La, Manila received top accolades in food and beverage at this year’s Philippine People’s Choice Awards.

HEAT, the hotel’s flagship restaurant and a pioneer of the interactive dining scene in Manila, was voted Favorite Hotel Buffet. The Summer Palace, touted as the country’s finest Cantonese restaurant, was voted Favorite Specialty Hotel Restaurant. The awards come during a period of transformation and innovation for both HEAT and Summer Palace.

HEAT’s famous Weekend Trio has been taken to the next level with The Sunday Side of HEAT, following Friday night’s Mad for Lobster and Saturday Night’s Mad for Wagyu.

Sunday lunches at HEAT showcase the hotel’s eight international chefs’ brand new signature creations, such as Chef Scott’s 20-hour slow cooked black Angus leg, Chef Hiromi’s special aburi sushi selection, Chef Tony’s Malaysian curry, and Chef Ragu’s spiced and yam-filled paratha. Some of the country’s most loved cooks and farmers likewise share in the spotlight, such as Eight Wonders’ heirloom rice, boneless lechon belly by Antonio’s Bellychon, honey cake and mango torte by Cuerva’s Bakeshop and cream cheese leche flan by Ginger Teehankee, among others. are given complimentary access to the poolside until 6 p.m., where they can enjoy fun water activities, or simply relax and unwind over refreshing local craft beers and mouthwatering wood-fired pizza by Chef Franco.

Summer Palace will launch a brand new tasting menu created by executive Chinese chef Tony Sum, which combines the restaurant’s signature classics and its line-up of eight treasures.
