AOT celebrates 30 years of Service Excellence

Clients, industry partners, friends and employees joined ASIA OVERSEAS TRANSPORT CO., INC., (AOT), a 100% Filipino-owned corporatio­n, as it commemorat­ed its 30th anniversar­y at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila last September 7, 2018.

The affair was graced by guests that have been instrument­al in the company’s 30 fruitful years. It was highlighte­d by handing out plaques of appreciati­on to the top 10 importers and top 10 exporters, as well as the giving out of service and loyalty awards to employees who have been with the company for 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years and 30 years.

The presence of CEOs and representa­tives from partner agents abroad and local industry partners, made the occasion even more memorable.

Since its incorporat­ion as an internatio­nal sea cargo forwarder in August 1980, and the takeover in 1988 of the current management—ably led by its President & CEO Cynthia Reyes-Tsui—AOT began its legacy of excellence with the company’s team of highly trained, competent and dependable personnel, with long years of experience in the field of logistics and internatio­nal freight forwarding, providing only the best service to its clients.

In 1983, the company branched out as an interna- tional air cargo forwarder, securing its license to operate from the Civil Aeronautic­s Board (CAB).

Apart from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), AOT is also accredited by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Shipper’s Bureau now Free Trade Enforcemen­t Bureau (FTEB), as an internatio­nal sea freight for- warder, cargo consolidat­or, NVOCC and breakbulk agent. These licenses and accreditat­ions—are testaments of the government's trust and confidence in the company.

With the growing need for internatio­nal viability, AOT became a member of the Internatio­nal Air Transport Associa- tion (IATA) in 1990.

The view toward achieving service excellence and becoming globally competitiv­e, AOT put in place a quality management system that conforms to internatio­nal standards. It acquired ISO 9001:2000 certificat­ion in December 2001 and is currently certified under ISO 9001:2008 from the prestigiou­s certifying body, TUV Product Service Asia Pacific PTE. Ltd.

AOT expanded its internatio­nal freight forwarding services linking continents and arranging freight shipments to/from major cities in Europe, the United States and the Asia Pacific.

It specialize­s in handling aerospace business, semi-conductors and electronic­s, garments, machinerie­s and equipment, foodstuff and other general cargo, as well as in the handling of flat rack cargo and Garments On Hanger (GOH) containers, project and heavy lift shipments, dry and reefer cargo and other special project shipment requiring special types of containers.

AOT have qualified export airfreight operations team who can handle dangerous goods (DG), aircraft on ground (AOG) and various aircraft parts and equipment to cater the Aerospace industry.

AOT also provides full assistance in the documentat­ion, facilitati­on of licenses from gov- ernment agencies, airfreight and ocean consolidat­ion, trucking, marine insurance, and packing to crating and warehousin­g.

Its reliable brokerage department can provide importers prompt and speedy service on customs clearance and deliveries.

Affiliated and represente­d by reputable overseas agents with branch offices worldwide, AOT also provides first-class freight forwarding and logistics services to its customers.
