AAP EMERGENCY ROAD SIDE SERVICE NOW JUST A CLICK AWAY WITH ABIZ O APP

-

On September 5, 2018, the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) signed a contract with Galileo Software Services to make it easier and faster for AAP members and motorists to access AAP’s emergency roadside service (ERS) through the use of the Abizo app.

The Abizo App has various features including incident reporting system (IReS), Personal Emergency and Alert System (PEAS), and public alert warning system (PAWS).

The IReS is the more direct approach to reporting an emergency to the AAP ERS. Through this feature, the distressed motorist can choose which of the services he/she needs:

a. towing request b. change tire service c. jump start service d. minor repair service e. basement towing f. fuel provision

Next, the motorist presses the button at the bottom of the screen for 3 to 4 seconds and the report will be sent to AAP ERS.

In case the service required is not among the choices provided, the motorist can select "any service," then press the orange button once. This will activate the phone’s camera and the motorist can take a photo or video of the problem. He/she can then attach this to the incident report before sending.

AAP ERS dispatchers will contact the motorist to make sure that he/she is safe and to confirm the location sent by the emergency signal. Afterwards, the AAP ERS will send a tow truck or a motorcycle-riding mechanic to provide quick response service to aid the motorist.

Another Abizo app feature that motorists in distress can use during a road emergency is the PEAS. Just by pushing the SOS button for 3 to 4 seconds, the emergency alert will be sent to AAP ERS.

The SOS alert will also be sent to the other organizations you’ve joined and to the family members or close friends you’ve added to your Circle.

AAP ERS also responds to the app within the 25-kilometer road distance from AAP offices at Alabang, Cebu City, Davao City, Lipa City, and San Fernan- do, Pampanga. Aside from tow trucks, AAP also dispatches motorbike-riding mechanic, or the AAP Quick Response Service, to respond faster to road emergencies in Metro Manila. AAP usually reaches distressed callers in around 15-30 minutes after receiving the report within the metro. Aside from the the Abizo app, AAP members can also get ERS through the hotline numbers (632) 723.0808, 0917.812.6000 and 0918.812.6000.
