SHORTLISTED NOMINEES FOR THE OUTLOOK 2018 ANNOUNCED

- By Din M. Villafuerte @dinmveeINQ

Online property portal Lamudi Philippines has announced the shortlisted nominees for The Outlook 2018: Philippines Buyers’ Choice Awards.

The annual gala hosted by Lamudi, in partnership with the Property Section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, celebrates developers and projects that had the biggest impact in the real estate industry in the previous year.

“The Outlook last year came from the fact that there was so much conversation happening online and on our platform itself,” said Lamudi Philippines CEO Bhavna Suresh. “We wanted to be that medium that analyzes this information and puts it out there for the market.”

“We realize we’re not in the capacity to say what is best and what is not. We think what we want to do as Lamudi is play the facilitator. We are a marketplace and what we do is we create that platform where everybody can come and interact,” Suresh explained.

She continued: “We got about 230 applications from everywhere in the span of 45 to 60 days. After which, we realized the importance of having a panel of judges. It was not that they picked the winners, but they shortlisted and checked that each project matched the criteria.”

The online real estate platform then surveyed 10,000 property seekers who came to Lamudi and actively interacted with different projects.

According to Suresh, “We had a detailed conversation about what they picked, what they’re looking for when they’re trying to decide when buying property. For us, we think it’s important to capture that essence and actually ask the property seeker, ‘what is it that you want?’ and ‘what is it that people can provide for you?’”

Winners of The Outlook 2018 will be announced at the gala night on Nov. 15 at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.

“We at Lamudi and the panel of judges were really impressed by the sheer number of highquality nominations this year. This just goes to show that the Philippines’ real estate sector is thriving with many developers demonstrating their ability to innovate and adapt to the changing needs of the market. There’s a lot to look forward to in the coming years,” Suresh said.
