Shang’s holiday fashion show showcases the best trends to shop this season

Shangri-La Plaza presented a stylish show on the runway as they showcased the season’s hottest trends in the House of Shang, its muchanticipated holiday fashion show for 2018. Featuring local and international designers and fashion brands from the Shang, the event presented the hottest holiday trends as directed and curated by some of the best names in the fashion industry.

On November 9, VIPs were treated to a private, by-invitation only preview of the special designer collections of Adora, John Herrera, K & Company, Mico Boutique, Plains and Prints, Rajo!, Rustan’s Department Store, Criselda Lontok, Tadashi Shoji, Adrianna Papell, Mac Duggal, and Weave.

The exciting show had models emerging from a set of doors – a symbolic entrance to the exclusive home of the season’s most stylish – and walking on a lushly carpeted runway. Guests were able to get a closer look at the high-fashion ensembles put together by model and photographer Jo Ann Bitagcol and stylist and former fashion editor Daryl Chang.

Pleated skirts in pastels were one of the recurring pieces on the runway, spotted in dainty, delightful looks from Plains & Prints, Weave, Rustan’s Mac Duggal.

Spots and stripes were also a fashionable favorite, perfect for the confident woman who likes to make a statement. Plains & Prints, Adora, Rustan’s Criselda Lontok, and Mico Boutique showed an impressive variety of key pieces with different iterations of this trend: stripes came in subdued lines, while spots went from tiny to massive. “Our tip? Go big and go bold,” said Chang and Bitagcol.

The season’s new neutrals for evening were seen in various shades of nude and made partyready with embellishments, as seen on Adora, Rajo!, K & Company, Rustan’s Adrianna Papell, and Rustan’s Criselda Lontok. But nothing says style more than black and white, so it’s no surprise it’s still a hot trend for the holidays. Perfectly fitted dresses and clean, unadorned ensembles from Adora, Rajo!, Weave, John Herrera, Rustan’s Mac Duggal, and Rustan’s Tadashi Shoji proved that this striking color combination is all you need to make a chic entrance.

Dark, edgy florals were prominent in looks from Rustan’s Criselda Lontok, Rustan’s Tadashi Shoji, and Mico Boutique. Pretty blooms—typically seen in spring and summer looks—were found against a darker background for a feminine, yet strong look that is perfect for this season.

Finally, the power of red rocked the runway, as seen on cherry dresses, ruby lace tops, and fiery long gowns by Adora, Mico Boutique, Rustan’s Mac Duggal, K& Company, and John Herrera.
