MIRIAM COLLEGE NUVALI CELEBRATES 5TH YEAR WITH A HIGH 5!

-

To give a high five usually means to congratulate someone for a triumph or success. For continuously growing, nurturing new students in the south, and thriving amid a new landscape, Miriam College Nuvali truly deserves a high five as it celebrates five wonderful years.

Located inside the modern Ayala Land Development in Laguna, MC Nuvali has shown a steady growth since it opened in school year 2014-2015.

From offering just four levels, it now offers an entire Basic Education program from preschool to Senior High School.

The vision was for Miriam College to expand and serve families in the emerging growth areas south of Manila, and also champion the same academic excellence and values in its Quezon City campus.

A historical move for Miriam College as an institution, was opening its doors to both boys and girls in MC Nuvali. Its consistent growth is proof that MC Nuvali is able to create a flourishing learning environment for both genders despite the challenges at the beginning, said asst. to the president for MCNuvali Cynthia Morales. “For the past 92 years, Miriam College focused on ‘forming women leaders in service,’ to quote our tagline. So when we opened MC Nuvali, we had to face the challenge of creating a holistic program that impacted both boys and girls. I believe we have been successful as our enrollment shows an increasing number of boys, and we currently have a 60-40 ratio of girls to boys.”

The word HIGH in High 5 represents the direction to which MC Nuvali continues to steer its students. HIGH stands for Happy, Innovative, God Loving, and Holistic. It also represents the trajectory the campus has taken in the past five years, showing an increase from just over a hundred students when it opened, to close to 800 this school year.

To accommodate new students for school year 2018-2019, a second 4,000 sq.m. building was built and launched this year. The colorful education complex accommodates preschool to Grade 4 students. A spacious courtyard at the center is a testament to the school’s emphasis on play for the group age it serves. The building was designed by top firm Rchitects Inc. led by Jose Pedro “Bong” Recio. “The building is especially designed to address the needs of 21st century learners where classroom layout encourages innovation, collaboration, and creativity,” said Miriam College president Dr. Rosario O. Lapus.

In the pipeline are new structures that respond to the growing needs of the students.
