PETRO GAZZ, HOME INC. RENEW ANGELS SPONSORSHIP DEAL FOR PVL SEASON 3
AFTER finishing fifth and fourth place in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Season 2 Reinforced Conference and Open Conference, respectively, Petro Gazz Ventures Philippines Corporation (Petro Gazz) and Homegrown Olympic Management Enterprises (HOME) Inc. are proud to announce the renewal of their sponsorship for the Petro Gazz Angels’ PVL Season 3 campaign.
Present during the formal contract signing at the Filoil Flying V Center (FFVC) were Ricky F. Villavicencio, Retchel Gabales, Maribel Villavicencio-Serrano, and Dave Dichupa from Petro Gazz and Diana D. Layug from HOME Inc.
The agreement covers the import-spiced Reinforced Conference as well as the Open Conference later this year.
Witnessing the contract signing were most of the current Angels, including two of the team’s latest signings: Jeanette Panaga and Jovielyn Prado.
Panaga, who in last December 2018 agreed to switch from playing for the Pocari Sweat franchise in Season 2 to Petro Gazz this year, plays middle blocker and led the league in blocking during the Season 2 Open Conference.
Prado, another NCAA Finals MVP during Arellano’s Season 92 title campaign, played for the Tacloban Fighting Warays last season and is a welcome addition to the team’s wing rotation. Prado brings versatility on both offense and defense as she finished 5th among the best scorers in the Open Conference with 172 total points, 8th in the spiking department, 5th among the best diggers, and 5th in receiving.
Familiarity with some of the current Angels played a key part in luring Jovy from her previous club. “Kung lilipat man ako, sila (Petro Gazz) yung una kong lilipatan kasi yung iba (players) kakilala ko na at mababait din yung teammates ko. Si Alyssa Layug, naging teammate ko na siya date. Si Ate Chie (Saet) naman, sa Laoag.”
Expect Panaga and Prado to contribute mightily for the Jerry Yee-coached Angels in the coming PVL Season 3.
