WE WORK OPENS DOOR IN PH
Megaworld Corp., the country’s largest office developer, has signed up US-based WeWork for its first Philippine location of collaborative workspaces.
WeWork, the world’s largest flexible coworking space provider, found home at the Uptown Tower Three in Uptown Bonifacio, Taguig City. It occupies two floors with a total gross floor area of 4,081 sqm.
“We are very fortunate to finally have an international brand which is WeWork to come to the Philippines to help incubate the initial requirements of these companies,” said Megaworld senior vice president Jericho P. Go.
One advantage of having WeWork, according to Go, is that the coworking space provider is able to supply the Philippines with a fresh set of multinational companies (MNCs), some of which have not even started operating in the country.
“WeWork allows them a soft landing in the Philippines,” Go said. “They are able to bring these MNCsto the Philippines and once they’re here, then they’ll see that it is conducive to conduct their operations in the Philippines.”
Once here, the MNCs would then become familiar with the etymology, the technical capabilities of the Filipinos, and the local work environment. They also get to know how to deal with landlords, the government, and even entrepreneurs or startups in the Philippines. Eventually, these MNCs will require permanent spaces and this is where Megaworld comes in.
WeWork offers round-theclock amenities, from front-desk service and mail and package handling, to high speed internet, business-class printers and IT support. There’s even a bike storage and 24/7 building access.

cio, one cannot help but take note of how hip and fun the office space is. Facilities include a game room, an indoor garden area, a pantry that serves unlimited coffee and a bar that serves craft beer.
The indoor garden comes with wooden swings and artificial lawn grass, where WeWork members can work or hold meetings when they get tired of sitting behind their desks. The game room, meanwhile, has a basketball arcade, foosball table and pingpong table. It also doubles as a karaoke room.
In creating all these cool, unique and different spaces, WeWork is also creating different connections and encouraging collaborations among members, whether you are part of a large enterprise or a freelancer.
Private offices can be leased starting at P28,500 per month. It comes with desks, chairs and filing cabinets. If you simply need your own dedicated desk in a shared office, you can have it for a lower P17,000 a month.
Once a member of WeWork in the Philippines, you are allowed access to the network of WeWork facilities globally. In Southeast Asia alone, WeWork has coworking spaces in Singa- pore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Members are promised a consistent quality of services and facilities.
WeWork is also set to open another coworking space at RCBC Plaza in Makati City.
