Mother-daughter moment–let time stand still
After a successful, unique afternoon last Thursday, Swatch begins a Mother’s Day tradition
The emotions just went beyond my expectations,” says Virgie Ramos, dabbing her eyes with tissue as she begins to tear up.
She’s referring to the moms and daughters who simply yielded to their honest moments that afternoon, posing for photographer Sara Black, at Swatch’s Mother-Daughter Moment. Black’s camera didn’t have to edit or embellish: the moms and daughters just bonded with such heart-tugging spontaneity for the camera.
“Many of the kids are in their challenging stage—teens and preteens,” explains Ramos, the retail visionary who built the brand Swatch in the country. “But no, the kids weren’t bratty, but were so cuddly with their moms and with us, Susan (Joven) and Mia (Borromeo), who tirelessly organized the event. Truly every mom’s cherished moment.”
Freeze! That must be the notso-secret wish of every mother—to freeze a moment so she can savor the time spent with her child. However, in a blink, a mother’s baby is a grown-up. Where did the time go?
Such wistful feeling must have hooked the mothers and daughters who went to the Swatch building last Thursday for an afternoon of fun, eats, raffle prizes—and the precious photographs by Sara Black.
The event surpassed the expectations of many so that the Swatch Mother-Daughter Moment will be an annual event from hereon. An on-camera tradition is born, an answer to every mother’s wish: to make time stand still with one’s child.
