PORSCHE, AUDI, LAMBORGHINI, BENTLEY WIN BIG IN ROBB REPORT U.S.A. BEST VEHICLES 2019
Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini, and Bentley amassed the biggest awards from Robb Report, the top American luxurylifestyle magazine. The four European car brands were the most innovative, elegant, and powerful wheels to hit the road in 2019 as they were named the magazine's Best Vehicles of the Year in its Best of the Best June 2019 issue.
The Best Sports Car award went to the Porsche 911 GT2 RS with Robb Report describing it as the "most powerful street 911 ever built by Porsche." Notoriously known for its excellent performance on the racetrack, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS recorded the fastest time among all other 911 models in Nürburgring Nordschleife. At the heart of the 911 GT2 RS is a 700 hp, 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine (capable of generating 750 Nm of torque) coupled with a Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) GT 7speed double-clutch transmission. The impressive setup allows the coupe to notch 0 - 60 mph in 2.7 seconds, while topping at 340 kph in track speed.
Meanwhile, the Audi A8 was awarded the Best Sedan, with high praises for its state-of-the-art technology and highly athletic performance. Leading the force towards assisted driving, the Audi A8 was recognized as the first sedan to secure Level 3 autonomous driving ability. Apart from its tech-savvy appeal, the Audi A8 features a wide array of upgrades to maximize a passenger's luxury experience. 20-inch wheels, a Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System and the Executive Rear-Seat Comfort package-with foot massage- are some of the additional options available for each unit. With regards to performance, the A8 does not sacrifice utility, as its all-wheel drive allows the vehicle to maneuver through a wide variety of road and weather conditions with ease.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ won the Best Supercar award which also recently achieved its greatest milestone by completing Germany's infamous Nurburgring circuit in six minutes and 44.97 seconds. The top variant boasts an all-powerful 770hp, V12 engine, capable of reaching at top speed of 350 kph. Only 900 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ units are set to be produced, following its production.
Rounding out the brands is Bentley, with the Continental GT winning the Best Grand Tourer award for its all-new redesigned 6.0L, twin-turbocharged W-12 engine, and its updated styling that makes it a sculpted, aggressive GT. Despite adapting a sleeker overall design, the Continental GT maintains its signature facade - the same face which won Robb Reports Car of the Year Award in 2004.
