WIFE PUTS ABUEVA IN ANOTHER BAD BIND

- By Denison Rey A. Dalupang @sonrdINQ

Suspended Phoenix Pulse star Calvin Abueva is in a hotbed of scandal once again.

And PBA commissioner Willie Marcial, who slapped an indefinite ban on the mercurial power forward, is sincerely hoping that this latest episode in Abueva’s life isn’t true.

“I just hope that all that I am seeing on social media is not true,” Marcial told the Inquirer Sunday night, minutes before Game 2 of the TNTBarangay Ginebra Final Four series at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

Sam Abueva, wife of the embattled player, accused Calvin of domestic violence through a streamed live video and a series of photographs and questionand-answer slides in the athlete’s first Instagram account (@calvinabuevaofficial).

And it just put the former Rookie of the Year and manytime national team member in a very bad light.

“It only further tarnishes his image,” added Marcial, who has his eyes and ears on everything that Abueva is doing while suspended to evaluate how the star Fuel Master is reforming himself.

In a 14-minute tell-all, the pregnant mother of four, alleged that the 6-foot-2 cager tried to weigh down on her, resulting to a spotting episode that sent her to the hospital. She went on to add that Calvin also tried to make sexual advances to which she declined due to risk of miscarriage.

Sam explained that she has been suffering at the hands of Calvin, thus the revelation.

“Sinasabi ko lang ang side ko para hindi na niya kayo maloko

pa (I am just exposing him so that he can no longer abuse others)” she said in the clip, which came with still shots from various closed-circuit television camera footage that she believes illustrates the degree of abuse she and her kids deal with.

Both incidents happened in July.

Five hours before Sam’s broadcast, Calvin, through a new account (@abuevacalvinthebeast), dismissed every claim in his old account as baseless.

Both also accused each other of committing infidelity.

Abueva is also under scrutiny from the Games and Amusements Board for his unsportsmanlike behavior on the floor. He also played in a barangay match in Montalban, Rizal while suspended.
