MHPS continues to Expand After Sales Services, Completed in Advance the Order for Refurbishment of Waste Heat Recovery Boiler for PASAR, Copper Smelting and Refining Company

TOTAL UPGRADE OF PRESSURE-RESISTANT COMPONENTS MADE BY OTHER MANUFACTURER

-

MHPS (Philippines) Inc. (MHPS-PHL) and MHPS (Philippines) Plant Services Corporation (MHPSPSC), a group company of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS), has received an order for refurbishment of a waste heat recovery boiler in operation at Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corporation (PASAR), located on Leyte last June. The said project, calls for total renewal of all boiler components of the Radiation Section and partial repair/replacement at the Convection Section. The boiler has been in operation since 1983. The work was scheduled on a 50 days tight completion until September 15 and MHPS-PHL and MHPS-PSC even completed the project four (4) days ahead of schedule on September 11, 2019.

PASAR selected MHPS-PHL to refurbish its waste heat recovery boiler based on its firm trust in the high quality of MHPS Group’s products and construction services demonstrated by a solid track record, combined with its strong evaluation of MHPS’ total solution services carried out in close cooperation with local boiler manufacturers and local servicing and engineering bases.

MHPS-PHL is the only boiler manufacturing company in the Philippines, established in 1989, this year marks the 30th year of its operation and presence in the country. It has been supporting the Philippine power industry utilizing its expertise in boiler parts fabrication, maintenance, inspection services, repairs, boiler combustion improvement, supply of spare parts, and providing solutions to power plant issues.

As power demand has increased in relation with the country’s economic growth, there has been growing need for equipment renewal, greater production capacity, and plant servicing. The addition of about 5.8GW new power plant units and the continuous demand for maintenance and rehabilitation of old boilers of the existing power plants prompt MHPS-PHL to expand the range of the products and services it provide to support the country’s industrial growth. On June 22 of this year MHPS-PHL newly established MHPS-PSC to further expand its plant servicing operations.

MHPS-PSC also aims to boost its share within the broad Southeast Asian market by leveraging the synergy generated through coordination with MHPS-PHL, which is a boiler manufacturer. In this respect, the ordered total refurbishment work on a product not made by MHPS will serve as a litmus test of MHPSPSC’S effort to expand the range of its business operations in the Philippines.

MHPS-PHL and MHPS-PSC are both strategically located in AG&P Special Economic Zone, San Roque Bauan Batangas.

MHPS’ foremost strength is its ability to provide total solutions in power generation facilities. The company’s comprehensive product lineup spans from high-efficiency largecapacity power generation systems, to energysaving systems employing small and mediumsized gas turbines, to geothermal power generation equipment. Going forward, the company will precisely respond to diverse needs, including effective re-use of waste heat as seen in the newly received order, as its way of ensuring stable power supplies, reducing environmental loads, and thereby contributing to industrial development around the world.
