Great moments from Fashion Week Spring/summer 2020

- RIARECOMMENDS.COM RIA FRANCISCO-PRIETO

Fashion month may be over, but it doesn’t mean we’re putting behind some of its great moments. Highlights of the spring/summer 2020 shows will linger on social media, on headlines and in our closets. Take a look:

Best hair: Kaia Gerber

On which show was Kaia Gerber not seen? She walked the runway for Chanel, Sacai, Alexander Mcqueen, Givenchy, Valentino and Saint Laurent, to name a few. What I loved was her fresh, short bob which proved to be versatile. It looked edgy brushed back at Celine, and dainty and romantic at Chanel.

Best collab: Dries van Noten and Christian Lacroix

This was a good example of true showmanship of knowledge in craft, trend and tradition. I fell in love with it—from the first look and all the colorful ensembles that came after, all the way to the final look.

Best walk: Gigi Hadid

At the Chanel show, a runway crasher managed to infiltrate the catwalk. Quick-witted Gigi Hadid spotted her and casually escorted her off the runway without fuss. To the untrained eye, it even looked like a scene staged for the Chanel presentation.

Best finale: Jennifer Lopez

Twenty years ago, Jennifer Lopez made fashion history with “The Dress.” Now, she proved she’s still got it by closing the Versace show that featured a collection inspired by “The Dress,” in the only way she knows how.

Favorite of the season: Bottega Veneta

I loved Daniel Lee’s knowhow in clothes and the fresh look he brought to Bottega Veneta. Vogue said: “Daniel Lee’s Bottega Veneta pouch clutch and distinctive squaretoe shoes have become It items almost overnight.” I most definitely agree.

Best runway tactic: Issey Miyake

How I wish that when I need to get dressed every morning, a frock would just fall from the ceiling, perfect for my

day. This was how the models for Issey Miyake got into their colorful dresses that made the show a hit.

Best hats: Erdem

These hats make me want to be transported to a European countryside where I could have a picnic. Erdem always makes a great story with every collection. It’s not about the details of the clothes, but also the lifestyle they exude and the personalities they emulate.

Best in styling: Giambattista Valli

I’m a Valli fan—season after season. For this collection, I was impressed with how the clothes were matched. There’s a mood that was consistent throughout the show, which was effortless and fun, with a great eye for the little things.

Best coats: Agnona

These coats mean business with pants and a shirt. But I can also see them worn on top of flirty dresses. The folded arms and the way they sloped over the shoulders suggest modernity and ease. That’s the perfect summer coat.

Best in crochet: Missoni

Crochet can be tricky. But Missoni managed to give us exactly what we need. Colorful patterns from the collection were ready to be worn with some denim or for a print-onprint look.

Best fusion of music and fashion: Sacai

Chitose Abe incorporated George Clinton’s band Funkadelic’s 1978 “One Nation Under A Groove” album cover for this collection that’s funk plus fashion. It’s fun and fearless and delivers Abe’s signature when it comes to Sacai as an influencer favorite.
