RÉMY MARTIN DEFINES DISTINGUISHED OPULENCE

-

Rémy Martin’s combined sense of the classic, as well as its contemporary allure, define its timelessness and distinguishes it for its opulence. Not surprisingly because the house of Rémy Martin gains distinct advantage from its long and rich history. Founded in France in 1724, Rémy Martin is one of the world’s biggest producers of fine champagne cognac. The esteemed cognac house distills three centuries of expertise in every bottle, producing a wide array of cognacs that are enjoyed by the world’s most discerning palates.

André Giraud, Rémy Martin’s cellar master from 1960 to 1990 once said: “It’s timeless because it never compromises. This union of finesse and opulence that it signifies is unique. It is the embodiment of the union of Grande and Petite Champagne.” Baptiste Loiseau, the house’s current and youngest cellar master but no less proficient, chimed in: “Its authenticity lies in its modernity. It is reminiscent of the essence of the land. The different ways there are, of appreciating it are what renders it eternal, timeless, modern.”

Rémy Martin’s Fine Champagne Cognac is unique in that it combines the harvests from the most coveted French terroir—a classification achieved only when the cognac is a blend of Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne that together form Cognac Fine Champagne.

In 1981, Giraud crafted Rémy Martin XO, a blend of 400 eaux de vie and aged up to 37 years. It’s complex, but not difficult to appreciate. More than anything, it was opulence in liquid form. Its intense amber hues hint at a delectable taste, exceptional smoothness, and an understated aromatic strength. An explosion of fragrances delights the sense of smell – white flowers, fruits and spice give way to an outstanding sensory experience. Then, notes of fresh, ripe plum, mature fig and crystallized orange, merge with a hint of cinnamon and freshly ground hazelnuts with a note of woody tobacco.

The House of Rémy Martin benefits from a long succession of Cellar Masters, each bringing his stamp of excellence and distinction worthy of the Rémy Martin appellation. While it was André Giraud who accelerated the use of modern technology in the cellars, the brand’s new cellar master, Baptiste Loiseau is poised to take Rémy Martin into a brighter future. Their collective vision, talents, and creativity continues to propagate and develop Rémy Martin’s celebrated opulence—taking the lessons and the splendor from its history, and imbuing with a sense of innovation and freshness to make Rémy Martin a symbol of distinction, fine taste, and luxury.
