MILLE MIGLIA GREEN RALLY CHOOSES CHOPARD AS TIME KEEPER
In continuing its partnership with Mille Miglia, Chopard, the Swiss manufacturer of luxury watches has been named as the official time keeper of the very first ever Mille Miglia Green Rally. This new discipline, saw cars traverse the route Brescia to Lainate via Milan; featuring various all electric vehicles, along with hybrids and authentic vintage cars with an electric engine block, this reflects the commitment of Chopard in uniting passion for automobiles and Journey to Sustainable Luxury within the same dynamic.
Once dubbed by Enzo Ferrari, as “Corsa piu bella del mondo” back in 1988, Chopard has chosen to sponsor the new spin off races of the renowned Italian Mille Miglia. The Mille Miglia Green, held on September 27-29, represented the first responsible and environmentally-friendly endurance race. As an acclaimed pioneer in the development of ethical watchmaking and jewelry, the Maison has fully supported this objective as the official timekeeper and partner of this prestigious event. The first leg of the race featured 35 vehicles, with hybrid or electric engines, left Brescia on September 27, over three days, the man and machine covered three legs in total. From the historic city of Brescia, then from Brescia to Milan, and finally Milan to the Lainate driving center.
To encourage participants, Chopard had set up its Chopard Espresso Lounge at Gae Aulenti Square in Milan, offering the gentlemen drivers and spectators alike, a respite from the activities, with the perfect venue for merrymaking and socializing.
Gianmaria Aghem et Rossella Conti took top honors in the competition on board a Tesla Model 3 Performance; after two days of competition, the duo were each presented with Chopard Mille Miglia Racing Colours Timepiece – in a green dial.
The Mille Miglia Racing Colours collection comes in Rossa Corsa, Speed Silver, British Racing Green, Vintage Blue and Speed Yellow; all colours representing various motor racing nations. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the partnership of Chopard and Mille Miglia, the Maison, since 2018, has been offering a limited collection of the five Mille Milia Racing Colours watches: a new edition of a historical collection of Chopard watches with unique dials exclusively designed for collectors. These pay tribute to the golden age of motor sport and to the exclusive race. Two British Racing Green versions constituted the winners' trophy, this, the very first Mille Miglia Green edition.
