Top Sino official to check on China-funded projects

A top Chinese official is on a three-day visit until Oct. 24 to meet with economic managers and to follow up on the implementation of infrastructure projects funded by Chinese loans. Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua is also scheduled to call on President Duterte, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). He was welcomed on Tuesday by Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., Assistant Secretary for Asian and Pacific Affairs Meynardo Montealegre and Finance Undersecretary Mark Dennis Joven. Hu is in charge of matters concerning agriculture, water resources, commerce and tourism, according to the DFA.
