PH pangolin inches closer to extinction

The Philippine pangolin is declared critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. An expert who led the assessment says the growing attention to the mammal’s plight sadly came too late. Prized as a source of traditional medicine in China and Vietnam, the pangolin is rapidly dwindling in population due to illegal hunting and poaching.
