o you feel love in your own home? Is it a place that you look forward to seeing every day, or do you just consider it a place to sleep in?

Whether you’re single or attached, it’s important that you love the place that you live in. Your home reflects your ideals, your personality and your outlook in life. It should be the one place on earth where you can be yourself and relax.

Even though Valentine’s Day is already over, it’s important to fill your home with love on a daily basis. Read on how to make your home a happier place and a more attractive nest for yourself, your future, or for your current partner in life.

MAKE ROOM FOR MORE

In the words of English poet John Donne, “No man is an island.” Many people crave to spend the rest of their lives with someone. Even if you choose to pursue the single life, you’ll surely need a friend or two to keep you company.

Even if you live alone, make sure that you’re always ready for a visitor. Buy cutlery and dishes in sets. Get a dining table that has two chairs or more if possible. Provide a sofa or any other area where you can entertain a date or a pal without them having to enter your bedroom. If you want people to come over, make sure that your home is prepared to welcome them warmly when they do.

KEEP CLEAN

While it may be a bummer to think someone will fall out of love with you because of your messy bedroom, it is unfortunately a possibility. Even if that’s not the case, surely you don’t want to attract any pests or mice instead, do you?

Try to follow the popular Konmari method to organize your stuff at home, or just discard things which you don’t really need at home. If you don’t want to throw out your beloved items, donate them instead to the less fortunate or just give them to a friend. It’s the perfect way to spread love to others and when your better half comes, he or she will have more space to squeeze into.

SPREAD GOOD SMELLS

A little lavender or cinnamon ignites the senses and makes your home a sensual playground. Get a fragrance diffuser to get rid of kitchen odors or bathroom smells.

If you can afford it, an air purifier or dehumidifier would be better to clean the air of toxins and make your indoor air more comfortable to breathe in. Your nose and lungs will love you for it, and perhaps, someone else’s, too.

SEPARATE WORK AND PLAY

The bedroom is a place to sleep in and is not a place for work. While many of us today live in studios and one-bedroom spaces, it’s best to separate your sleeping area and work space if you can help it. You don’t want your source of stress to be the last thing that you see before you drift off to sleep. Likewise, you’ll be able to pay more attention to your partner or family if you would have designated areas for work and relaxation at home.

GET A BEDSIDE LAMP

Get yourself and your partner in the mood with some dimmable lights. Now if you don’t want to replace your existing overhead fixtures, get a bedside lamp instead. While dimmable lights and lamps are often associated with freaky frolicking, you’d be surprised they are also healthy for you.

Turning them on when you wake up at night gives your eyes a chance to adjust to brightness. They also prevent marital spats when one partner likes to sleep in the dark while another prefers to read a book before bedtime. So for the betterment of your vision and your relationships, buy a bedside lamp now.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH REMINDERS OF LOVE

What makes a house a home is the people that live in it. That being said, your house becomes a happy place to live in if you fill it with reminders of your happiest moments in life.

Photos from your wedding day, your children’s birth, your graduation or any other momentous or joyous occasion ought to be displayed and celebrated in your home. Put these photos in a nice picture frame that goes with your interior décor, and you’ll have a house that tells your happiest moments in pictures.

Overall, love is something that should be present in everyone’s home. Whether you had a date yesterday or you celebrated Single Awareness Day instead, give yourself a reason to be happy by turning your home into a place of love.

Beyond attracting a partner, it is important that you fall in love with your room, apartment or home on a daily basis. While partners may come and go, your house will always be your sanctuary from past relationships and will keep you company for the rest of your life.
