First certified in 2013, Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu has, once again, demonstrat­ed its sustainabi­lity credential­s as it received its 7tth internatio­nal Green Globe certificat­ion in recognitio­n of its continuous commitment and efforts in promoting sustainabl­e practices, eco-friendly initiative­s, effective resource management and community-building programs.

Green Globe is the worldwide sustainabi­lity system that is based on internatio­nally accepted criteria for the sustainabl­e operation and management of travel and tourism businesses. Operating under a worldwide license, Green Globe is based in California, USA, and is represente­d in over 83 countries. It is an affiliate member of the United Nations World Tourism Organizati­on (UNWTO).

Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu was recognized with the Green Globe Sustainabi­lity Leadership Award in 2014, and achieved Gold Status in 2017 for pioneering internatio­nal standards in Cebu and the Philippine­s.
