First certified in 2013, Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu has, once again, demonstrated its sustainability credentials as it received its 7tth international Green Globe certification in recognition of its continuous commitment and efforts in promoting sustainable practices, eco-friendly initiatives, effective resource management and community-building programs.

Green Globe is the worldwide sustainability system that is based on internationally accepted criteria for the sustainable operation and management of travel and tourism businesses. Operating under a worldwide license, Green Globe is based in California, USA, and is represented in over 83 countries. It is an affiliate member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu was recognized with the Green Globe Sustainability Leadership Award in 2014, and achieved Gold Status in 2017 for pioneering international standards in Cebu and the Philippines.
