Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Thursday, National Flag Day, issued a message saying “I ask for your cooperation, let’s set aside our personal intentions and think of our constituents.” City officials attended the flag ceremony at Kartilya ng Katipunan beside City Hall to commemorate National Flag Day. From May 28 to June 12 each year, Filipinos are encouraged to display the flag in government offices, establishments and schools.

A delivery man was caught as he was about to deliver “shabu” (crystal meth) to a Chinese client in Makati City during curfew hours early on Thursday. In a police report, Makati police chief Col. Oscar Jacildo said the suspect, 38-year-old Peter Symon Obusan, was arrested on N. Garcia Street in Barangay Bel-air at 2:45 a.m. Obusan was flagged initially for driving during curfew. His motorcycle also had no side mirror. He tried to elude arrest, but was caught afterwards. Seized from Obusan were six sachets of white shabu amounting to P40,800, as well as glass tooters still covered in bubble wrap. Police also recovered from him 10 sachets of red tablets and red powder, believed to be “scented shabu,” amounting to P30,000.
