UNDERSTANDING ISSUES AFFECTING FIL-AMS, OVERSEAS FILIPINO S

In recent years, immigration has presented some of the most valuable opportunities. However, numerous crises have also challenged the everyday lives of overseas Filipinos and their families. Given the rising cases and severe impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is crucial for Filipinos living abroad to understand various laws and regulations relevant to them.

Ortigas Land, in partnership with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, will shed light on the US policies affecting Filipino-american communities and overseas Filipinos during the pandemic through the second episode of its new webinar series called “Spotlight by Ortigas Land.”

The Spotlight by Ortigas Land episode will feature guest speaker Atty. Lourdes “Lou” Santos Tancinco, a San Francisco-based immigration lawyer, and co-founder and partner at Tancinco Law. Atty. Lou is a Filipino World War II veterans advocate and multi-awarded TV host, producer and columnist in the area of US immigration law. Her years of experience in serving Filipino families and businesses give her a good grasp of the many challenges that Filipinos face in the US.

Moderating the session will be Tek Samaniego of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. As a writer, Tek has been a contributor for a range of different sections including Science and Health, Property and Business. She is responsible for bringing new themes, columns and creative executions to the Property section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
