Hiring: 4,754 contact tracers for Metro Manila cities

The Department of the Interior and Local Government on Thursday said Metro Manila cities would be receiving 4,754 new contact tracers as part of the national government’s efforts to speed up early detection in COVID-19 cases and close contacts. Speaking at presidenti­al spokespers­on Harry Roque Jr.’s press briefing, Interior Undersecre­tary Bernardo Florece Jr. said the contact tracers would be hired through the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapb­uhay sa Ating Disadvanta­ged/Displaced Workers, at P537 per day for three months. Those interested must send their applicatio­n letters, barangay residency certificat­ion and medical certificat­e to the Public Employment Service Office on or before April 22. Applicants must be at least a high school graduate and should have relevant work experience. —JEROME ANING
