SPORTS WATCH FOR HIM, JEWELRY WATCH FOR HER
The French house Hermès launched last week its new watch models for 2021 at Watches And Wonders in Geneva.
The contemporary yet timeless new Hermès H08 watch has its finger firmly on the pulse of modern man. Its sportinginspired features a circular dial framed by a case with softened edges.
It uses mineral materials and tones, with black, gray and anthracite rubbing shoulders with blue and orange. At once robust and delicate, matte and glossy, it is defined by its multifaceted nature.
The distinctively original font of the numerals chimes with the object, including a zero and an eight. The zero embodies emptiness, while the horizontal figure eight symbolizes infinity. Beating to the rhythm of the mechanical self-winding Manufacture Hermès H1837 movement, the new Hermès H08 line offers three large cushion-shaped models with a screwdown crown.
The miniaturized Faubourg model presented by Hermès in 2014 has inspired the design of the Faubourg Polka: a motherof-pearl dial framed by a dainty round case. Its entirely redesigned bracelet consists of interwoven dots and oblique lines.
Embodying haute joaillerie, the Faubourg Polka watch is available in five versions— white or rose gold, gem-set or entirely paved with diamonds. This jewelry watch draws in equal measure on fine craftsmanship and abstract art.
Framed by white gold, the new Slim d’Hermès showcases the subtle arts of miniature paillonné enamel and engraving in a whimsical and mischievous universe. The Slim d’Hermès watch created by Philippe Delhotal in 2015 exudes a discreet elegance that lends itself to the expression of Hermès expertise.
Humorously reinterpreting the theme of the C’est la fête silk scarf, demanding miniature enamel artistry is revealed in all its virtuoso splendor.
The dial motif, a mischievous skeleton figure vigorously riding his horse in a tailcoat and top hat, is drawn from the men’s silk scarf designed by Daiske Nomura in 2012.
Leather craftsmanship meets haute horlogerie to create a unique pocket watch, featuring the T-Rex from the Aaaaargh! silk scarf designed by Alice Shirley.
The Arceau watch, created by Henri d’Origny in 1978, lends its classic yet distinctive round shape, with its asymmetrical stirrup-inspired lugs, to infinite expressions of Hermès creativity, style and expertise.
Beating to the rhythm of the Manufacture H1924 minute repeater and tourbillon movement, the Arceau Pocket Aaaaargh! frames a refined white enamel dial, protected by a cover adorned with a tyrannosaurus composed of marquetry and leather mosaic.
Hermès is at Greenbelt 3, Makati City.
