166 cops sanctioned for administra­tive offenses

The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has sanctioned 166 policemen, including two high-ranking Philippine National Police officials, for various administra­tive offenses since March. According to the Napolcom, 275 administra­tive cases involving 515 PNP personnel have been resolved since March. “Out of the 166 police personnel who were imposed with disciplina­ry sanctions, 75 were dismissed from the police service; 48 were penalized with one rank demotion; and 43 were suspended,” said Vitaliano Aguirre II, Napolcom vice chair and executive director. Among those dismissed from the service and demoted were two high-ranking PNP officials whom Aguirre did not identify.
