Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) continues to celebrate inspiring, talented and beautiful women via the search for Aliwan Fiesta Digital Queen,
Year 2. MBC is on the lookout for last year’s winner, Jannarie Zarzoso of Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.
The contest is open to ladies 16-28 years old, single, with pleasing personality, must have been born biologically female, and currently holding Filipino citizenship. Candidates should be well-versed in the culture, customs and traditions of their respective regions.
Each lady must be able to demonstrate a unique talent to a high degree of excellence, either in the visual or performing arts, craft or design, athletics or culinary expertise. Matt and Ben reunite in ‘The Last Duel’
Bosom buddies Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are reuniting in 20th Century Studios’ “The Last Duel,” a gripping tale of betrayal and vengeance set against the brutality of 14th century France directed by four-time Oscar nominee Ridley Scott. The trailer and teaser poster for the film, which also stars Adam Driver (“Marriage Story” ) and Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve’), are available now.
The historical epic is a cinematic and thought-provoking drama set in the midst of the Hundred Years War that explores the ubiquitous power of men, the frailty of justice and the strength and courage of one woman willing to stand alone in the service of truth.
Based on actual events, the film unravels long-held assumptions about France’s last sanctioned duel between friendsturned-rivals Jean de Carrouges (Damon), a knight, and Jacques Le Gris, a squire (Driver).
Carrouges’ wife, Marguerite (Comer), is viciously assaulted by Le Gris, a charge he denies, she refuses to stay silent, stepping forward to accuse her attacker, and results in the ensuing trial by combat. Affleck plays Count Pierre d’Alençon.
