CONNECTING PLACES, CONNECTING PEOPLE
Atty. Michael David Abundo III, VP and head of corporate resources division of Ortigas Land, acknowledges that infrastructure is one of the highest value multipliers to any development, and it will always play a key role in a real estate company’s growth in many ways.
“We do not only develop properties, we build communities. We keep the best interest of the people and the community in mind. Public infrastructure connects not just places but more importantly, people. With this, we make it a point that there is convenient access from our developments to public infrastructure, such as roads and mass transport systems. Only through these connections of people and places can a thriving and vibrant community flourish,” Abundo explained.
He pointed out that all of Ortigas Land’s current estates are centrally located in the city. The company’s properties, Abundo said, have long benefitted from major infrastructure facilities in terms of accessibility.
“The creation of more infrastructure projects that would hopefully ease traffic congestion and increase people’s mobility would definitely benefit our developments, as this would increase foot traffic in our malls, make it easier for employees to reach their offices in our developments, and let our residents live out their best lives within our communities,” he added.
For now, Abundo believes that to sustain the company’s growth amid the pandemic, increasing the vaccination roll-out will greatly help in strengthening business and consumer confidence.
“With massive inoculation, mobility will increase, therefore creating more foot traffic and spending in malls, especially during the holiday season. This will greatly help small and big businesses alike,” he said.
