Okada Manila’s fountain springs back to life
The Fountain has sprung back to life. After a two-year hiatus, Okada Manila’s iconic and beloved attraction makes a grand comeback, much to the delight of the integrated resort’s patrons and guests. Touted as the world’s largest multicolor dancing water feature, The Fountain reopened on July 17 with a spectacular lineup of festivities, ushering in brighter and more opportune times ahead.
Hotel and casino guests were treated to such a lively and powerful performance by multi-awarded international artist Morissette. The Fountain’s Grand Comeback was hosted by Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco and Canadian actor Nico Locco.
As one of the country’s grandest destinations, Okada Manila takes pride in bringing larger-than-life experiences to its visitors with The Fountain as its crown jewel. Measuring 37,464 sqm, Okada Manila’s headliner offers a breathtaking show of artistically choreographed water, light and music performances designed to rival those of Las Vegas’ Bellagio and Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
With a conceptual design inspired by the sampaguita, the Philippines’ national flower, the $30-million dancing fountain is meant to not only conjure feelings of love and romance. Okada Manila also intends it to represent the promise of good fortune for the leisure development’s guests as well as of a bright future for the country, especially as we go forward from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Along with the dazzling lights and graceful—sometimes, even seemingly flirtatious—projections of water, audiences will be regaled with two new songs—“You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban and “We Are the Champions” by Queen.
With a size that is equivalent to 50 Olympic-size swimming pools, The Fountain is equipped with cutting-edge underwater robots, over 2,000 dazzling lights, dozens of high-fidelity speakers and more than 700 high-power jets that can shoot water even farther than the height of Okada Manila’s 19-story tower, as well as showcase projections during stunning water shows.
In spite of its impressive size, Okada Manila also finds pleasure in the fact that its crown jewel is ecologically sustainable. It is fitted with a
technology-intensive water filtration system so that operating The Fountain produces zero water waste. It’s truly such a relief that its jaw-dropping and stunning performances make for memorable experiences, while at the same time ensuring that these are environment-friendly.
Installed in The Fountain’s lake is an invisible performance stage, designed to provide a unique venue for special events and concerts. Such gives an illusion that artists are walking on the water during performances, interacting with the water feature.
Located 10 minutes from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Okada Manila has positioned itself to be a premier destination for hospitality and entertainment.
The integrated resort offers 993 exceptional accommodations ranging from 55-sqm deluxe rooms to 1,400-sqm villas. It also has the Retail Boulevard, Cove Manila nightclub and indoor beach club, The Gardens by Manila Bay, an exciting array of dining options and a 3,000sqm spa.
The Fountain is open to the public and performs at hourly intervals from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 6 p.m. until midnight Fridays through Sundays.
