HIGH SCHOOL OPENS GENERAL ACADEMIC STRAND FOR DEAF STUDENTS
In pursuit of a more inclusive society where no one gets left behind, the Benilde Senior High School (SHS) is now accepting deaf learners for the General Academic Strand (GAS) for the academic year 2022-2023.
The mainstreaming was conducted to provide accessible education and a safe learning environment for deaf students as well as accommodate the graduating junior high school students from the Benilde Deaf School (BDS).
Benilde SHS serves as a head start to respective college degree programs and future careers. Leaning toward humanities and social sciences, GAS equips enrollees with critical thinking and widened perspective on the structure of society. It is designed to train political, economic and social leaders on the local and global scale.
In addition to regular classes, there will likewise be special sessions on selected courses. Filipino Sign Language interpreters as well as notetakers will be available in selected classes.
For students with special learning needs, the school has prepared dedicated facilities, offices and accommodations to provide instruction and services to facilitate inclusive and innovative learning.
Students likewise have access to state-of-the-art facilities including the wide array of online academic resources available at the multimedia library of the Br. Fidelis Leddy Center for Learning Resources.
Benilde SHS will be delivered through hybrid learning with blended components, comprised of a traditional classroom setup and online sessions conducted through Zoom or Google Classrooms.
