TENOR ARMAN FERRER TAKES HIS TURN IN CONCERT SERIES

-

Considered one of the outstanding musical theater actors of today’s generation, Arman Ferrer will be the second-act performer of the “Triple Threats” concert series on Nov. 18 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ (CCP) Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez (CCP Black Box Theater) at 7:30 p.m.

Ferrer is one of three tenors who will perform in the concert series that highlights the luminaries of Philippine musical theater. He was only 21 years old and had no acting experience when he auditioned in the zarzuela “Walang Sugat” at the Ateneo in 2010, bagging the lead role of Tenyong.

He reprised the role in Tanghalang Pilipino’s staging directed by Carlitos Siguion Reyna at the CCP. After that, he appeared in “The Best of Opera” at Resorts World Manila, “A Christmas Carol” for 9Works, “Mabining Mandirigma” at CCP and two original musicals for director Joel Lamangan (“Maynila: Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag” and “Binondo: A Tsinoy Musical”).

In 2021, he bagged the title role in “Lapu Lapu” the musical, the first production staged at the newly renovated Metropolitan Theater directed by Dexter Santos. Ferrer won an Aliw Award as Best Crossover Artist and an Awit Award for Best Christmas Song by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab.

Each concert in the “Triple Threats” series is an intimate evening of beautiful music, personally selected by the artists themselves, from their vast repertoire of favorite songs.

Other tenors featured in the series are Markki Stroem who had his concert on Oct. 14, and Poppert Bernadas on Dec. 21.
