The construction of the P12-billion Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project in Barangay Gumalang, Baguio District in Davao City, begins with a ceremonial groundbreaking event. Also called the Apo Agua project, it is an infrastructure joint venture between the Aboitiz Group and J.V. Angeles Construction Corp. which seeks to resolve water supply problems in some areas of the city, especially in the second district. Prior to the construction, the project had secured the approval of the 6.8-hectare site conversion from agricultural to industrial from the Department of Agrarian Reform. Of the total cost of the project, P10 billion will be shelled out by Apo Agua, while P2 billion by the Davao City Water District.
