NEW AID FROM JAPAN

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, officer in charge of the Department of Health, formally receives from the government of Japan several boxes representing its latest assistance package to the Philippines, including medical equipment and supplies for medical storage. Joining Vergeire at the turnover ceremony on Friday at the Lung Center of the Philippines are Nihei Daisuke (center), the Japanese Embassy’s director for International Economy, and Takema Sakamoto, chief representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
