FEU HIGH SCHOOL INKS SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIPS
FEU High School officially inked its partnership between its Community Engagement and Extension Services (CEES) and its collaborating communities: World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines (WWF-Philippines), Gawad Kalinga Paradise Heights, Barangay 128, Bridge Builder Foundation Norway Inc., and Apolinario Mabini Elem. School last Jan. 25.
The memorandum of understanding unites all partner communities for joint research, lectures, seminars, workshops, and other initiatives and programs facilitated by the CEES. It aims to provide students with out-of-school practical experiences while offering
beneficiary communities livelihood skills, education access, environmental stewardship, and enhanced well-being.
“We want students to learn beyond classrooms, understand real-world
issues, and contribute to societal solutions through experiential learning. We are beyond grateful to our partner communities as we share the goal of promoting sustainability for both people and the environment,” said FEU High School CEES chairperson Renan Agad.
FEU High School and WWF-Philippines will champion environmental stewardship, empowering the community as sustainability advocates. WWF-Philippines will lead discussions involving all to develop an environmental awareness module integrated into FEU HS’s curriculum.
In partnership with Bridge Builder Foundation Norway Inc., the institution will launch The OASIS Project, aimed at improving the holistic well-being of street children and families. It offers students a comprehensive socio-civic experience through workshops in various performing arts disciplines.
Meanwhile, the institution is currently engaged with Gawad Kalinga and Brgy. 128 for two flagship programs of CEES – Project Ahon Luntiang Payaman and Project AKBAY. The former promotes sustainable food security and economic empowerment through safe hydroponic farming. The latter offers immersive experiences for Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand students to understand pressing social issues and propose suitable programs to improve living conditions in marginalized communities.
