LATEST LOSS HAS FLYING TITANS FIXATED ON FINALLY PUTTING ONE OVER COOL SMASHERS

Choco Mucho will be heading into the semifinals of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference still carrying a big white and hot pink-colored chip on its shoulder.

The Flying Titans lost to defending champion Creamline for the 12th straight time late last week, and playing the eliminated Foxies at 6 p.m. on Tuesday to close out their preliminary round schedule at PhilSports Arena might just be the palate cleanser that they need heading into the semifinals.

“Creamline is really hard to beat, it has an advantage on (manpower) strength so we were not able to do what we wanted on the court,” coach Dante Alinsunurin said in Filipino after Choco Mucho remained winless against the defending champions in their head-to-head clashes.

Petro Gazz and the Cool Smashers, both also at 8-2 like Choco Mucho, have also booked their respective tickets to the Final Four, while Chery Tiggo (8-2) and PLDT (7-3) will need to complete their respective schedules before knowing who gets to move on to the next round.

The High Speed Hitters are hoping that the Crossovers drop their game against eliminated Galeries Tower while they battle Creamline later in the week, looking for a win that would bolster their semifinal hopes.

“Even if we tried to adjust,

Creamline still had a counter for us,” Alinsunurin added as the Flying Titans continued to miss opposite hitter Kat Tolentino, who is still recovering from an auditory condition. “Right now, we are just thinking how we can get them (Cool Smashers) when we battle them again.”
