NAIA T3 PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CLOSER TO COMPLETION
A pedestrian link bridge directly connecting Naia Terminal 3 (T3) with Newport City is getting closer to completion.
The bridge is for the benefit and free use of the public, particularly tourists, who may want safe alternatives to reach various parts of the metropolis.
The link bridge will be enclosed and air-conditioned, with pedestrian-friendly facilities such as walkalators and elevators.
Instead of travel times that can reach over an hour just to get out of Naia T3, the average person can walk the distance between the airport and Newport City in around three minutes.
The bridge can accommodate up to 2,000 persons at any time, or up to 216,000 individuals per day. Once opened, it is seen to help ease the traffic situation in the area.
Given its clear public benefit and necessity, the project has received the full support and endorsement of relevant government and airport authorities.
