SPOTLIGHT ON WOMEN IN RED MAGAZINE’S MARCH ISSUE
In celebration of International Women’s Month, Inquirer RED Magazine focuses on women’s impact on a variety of fields— from art to business and food.
On the cover is artist Nikki Luna. In an interview, she fleshes out the feminism of her art, recalls encounters with sexism, and criticizes misogyny rampant in society.
“We have to remember that feminism is never for the patriarchy,” she said. “It’s never about men against women, or about girls hating boys.”
Also featured are six women who help keep the food industry interesting: Tina Lagdameo of Honest Junk, a homegrown brand of healthy snacks infused with healthy ingredients such as malunggay, mangosteen and pink guava; and Monica Mendiola of Take Root, a healthier alternative to guilt-ridden nibbles which offers kale chips and vegan dark chocolate bliss balls.
Meanwhile, Belgian interior architect Gert Voorjans tells RED about his creative process when making spaces, while editor in chief Ria Prieto writes about her recent trip to the cobblestoned pavements, flea markets, and storied streets of Mexico.
Bambina Olivares-Wise injects new life to age-old talks on the pro-life movement and population and demographic issues.
