OKADA MANILA PROMOTES SUPPLIER DIVERSITY, OPENS DOORS TO LOCAL SMEs
Aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion in its supply chain process, Okada Manila is hosting its first Supplier Trade Fair on May 30, targeting to attract local suppliers including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Okada Manila president and chief operating officer Takahiro Usui said they seek out untapped local business partners who can provide highquality goods and services in food and beverage, print and collaterals, corporate giveaways, and manpower categories during the pilot leg of the trade fair.
“We are determined to become the next major world-class entertainment, luxury shopping, extraordinary dining and leading gaming destination in Asia, and to do that, we need strategic enablers who can offer us not just quality but also viable, innovative and cost-efficient solutions to our business,” said Usui.
The newly-opened integrated resort joins the ranks of big corporations in the country who value and understand the significance and positive impact of supplier diversity in delivering excellent business results.
Usui also highlighted that the company’s first mass sourcing initiative is an open call to empower and encourage potential local SMEs to participate by providing them equal opportunity to present their products and services directly to Okada Manila procurement representatives.
“Filipino suppliers are gaining ground in the global market and you’ll be surprised that among the world’s best suppliers are many small to medium-sized businesses from the Philippines,” said Usui. “It’s a homecourt advantage for us, quality suppliers are all over the country and we see this as an opportunity to provide equal and inclusive avenue that will be mutually beneficial to our company as well as to our future business partners.”
Okada Manila devised its supplier trade fair as an interactive procurement activity where potential suppliers are invited to experience the brand firsthand through exhibits and comprehensive lectures that detail property requirements and share its corporate goals and values to participants. In turn, suppliers will have a better understanding of what is expected of them and will be able to deliver accurate and extraordinary business solutions that are aligned to the integrated resort’s corporate standards.
Okada Manila’s Supplier Trade Fair 2017 will be held at its Golden Ballroom from 8am to 6pm. Interested parties may log on to http://supply chain.okadamanila.com to pre-register and know more details about the event.
