Global risk advisors in legal clash
LONDON— The global risk advisor Aon Consulting has sued its competitor Marsh Inc. and its subsidiary, Marsh & McLennan Agency, for allegedly obtaining Aon’s proprietary data and gaining unauthorized access to Aon data and using it in their own business. The lawsuit charges Marsh and Marsh & McLennan used a participating organization’s login credentials and used information for their own compensation consulting services. The proprietary data came from Aon surveys of about 3,000 different organizations. Aon is seeking damages, legal fees and a permanent injunction, but did not specify the amount.
